Power Integrity Engineer

Job Overview:
  • Candidate will be responsible for all aspects of power delivery and analysis including: PCB, package, and on-die distributions.
  • Develop system level.
  • Power Integrity analysis and sign-off plans.
  • Collaborate with circuit, PCB, package and tool providers.
  • Perform end to end modelling and PDN analysis.
  • Drive modeling optimization efforts balancing performance, cost and schedule.
  • Provide status to team leadership.
  • Perform hardware validation/correlation of power integrity.
  • Explorer multiple on-die power distribution strategies and power grid/routability trade-offs.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least 7 yrs experience required in the following areas:
  • Designing SoC Power Delivery Networks.
  • Design and analysis of decoupling strategies (PCB, pkg, on-die).
  • On die power grid analysis and design.
  • Experience working test engineers validating power delivery in hardware.
  • Familiarity with Cadence circuit design and layout software and Ansys Redhawk.
  • Direct experience with lab characterization: High Speed Oscilloscope, Spectrum analyzer, etc.
  • Tools and modeling experience: HSpice, Ansys HFSS, Agilent ADS, Ansys Designer, Sigrity PowerSI, Ansys SIWave or comparable, Allegro/SIP.
  • Background in 2D and 3D electromagnetic modeling, transmission line theory.
  • Understanding Physical design principles (PnR).

Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience with chip and package extraction tools, e.g., Star-RCXT, Sentinel-PSI, SiWave.
Hands-on experience in Physical design (PnR tools); track of records (successful tape-outs) in multiple projects.
