Mechanical Hardware Engineer

Job Overview:
Our Validation Team is part of the central SoC digital hardware organization responsible for the overall quality of the SoC silicon. The Validation team works closely with architects, designers, verification engineers, software engineers, and customers. The team is looking for a candidate to work on high volume validation machine (HVVM). As Mechanical Hardware Engineer, you will be working on a third party handler to tune and calibrate its operations to enable volume testing.

The responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Understanding the operation of the handler.
  • Performing training and calibration.
  • Reviewing fault tolerance and device recovery flow.
  • Performing some high level programming to operate the machine.
  • Must have good communication skills to interact with supplier and people within the group.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least 4 years of industrial experience working on robotic handler, automatic insertion machine, or similar products. Good knowledge of mechanical aspect of the moving parts, alignment, calibration, thermal control, condensation control, and electrical aspect of signal connectivity, wire routing, EMI shielding, and simple programming to control the system.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with robotic arm or handler, automatic insertion machine in both R&D or manufacturing environment.

Preferred: Master's, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
