Manager of Engineering  (Full-time, Direct hire)

Novus' client is seeking an Engineering Manager who will be responsible for design and release to production of mixed-signal integrated circuits using client's patented via-configurable technology.  The Engineering Manager is a key technical leader for the Engineering Department.  This individual will be responsible for overseeing the design engineering department, assigning engineering resources, defining and documenting engineering best practices, supporting development of customer proposals, and driving IP reuse and via-configurable technology.


  • Supervise engineering group leaders, project coordinators and lab test engineering
  • Create and promote a framework that encourages IP reuse and mixed-signal via-configurability
  • Improve and implement design and development processes and engineering best practices
  • Interact with marketing, sales and customers for critical customer support and new product definition
  • Contribute to medium and long-term development roadmap discussions on an ongoing basis
  • Communicate design effort results and insights with other senior leaders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to expand design capabilities
  • Provide input to engineers’ project task schedules
  • Track design activities and adherence to milestone deliverables
  • Participate in potential project resource and schedule estimates
  • Mentor engineers in areas of expertise
  • Identify training and education opportunities for engineers
  • Determine CAD/design software needs; ensure licenses are up to date
  • Determine lab equipment needs; ensure lab is adequately equipped
  • Monitor engineering productivity and performance
  • Hire engineers and support staff as dictated by business needs


  • BSEE degree
  • 10+ years experience in IC Design (6+ years with advanced degree, e.g. MSEE)
  • 3 years of experience managing a team of engineers
  • Self motivated—requiring no supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of analog and/or digital signal processing
  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder


  • MSEE or appropriate advanced degree
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and execute multiple large/complex and mission-critical projects
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to leverage project team to manage project priorities and technical resources
  • Patents, published papers
  • Mixed-signal IC design experience
  • Automated place and route tool experience
