Description:
Hardware architecture, design, implementation, testing and debugging of complex high speed, highly integrated memory subsystems.  Candidate will have opportunities to work in a fast pace, state of the art environment and on a variety of topics within the complete life cycle of the development of advanced hardware subsystems targeting Data Center applications.
Responsibilities involves early investigation and feasibility studies, close collaboration with System Architects, ASIC, FPGA, Verification and SW teams and will play a major role in lab validation of the entire system. Ability to understand/interpret industry standards, system/chip level requirements, system/block level partitioning, and ability to develop/deliver specifications, schematics and test plans for functional/analog performance testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpretation of industry standards, creation of System/Board/FPGA specifications.
  • Independent design, schematic capture, layout check, BOM management, bring up and testing of complex PCB boards
  • FPGA RTL architecture, design, implementation, synthesis, simulation, placement and STA closure.
  • Development of Test plans & Test methods to validate SERDES, ASIC’s & Memory subsystems
  • Creation of technical documentation including product specifications, layout instructions, test plans/procedures
  • Lab automation, test script generation
  • Bring-up & debug of assembled PCB boards and silicon devices and continued support of validation teams
  • Works with other functional teams to root cause issues and find solutions or workarounds.
  • Test Report Generation & Technical support for Internal & External Customers

Qualifications:

Minimum:
  • BS/MS CE/EE/CS with 8+ years of experience in board and FPGA design
  • Expertise using Cadence (including Orcad), Mentor design tool and flows
  • Schematic Design/Capture, PCB layout check, bring up and debugging tools, software,
  • Familiar with the use of lab equipment such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, signal generators, etc
  • Experience with Xilinx and Altera FPGAs
  • Experience in the use of common processor/evaluation boards
  • Experience with scripting languages, TCL, Perl and Python
  • Experience with embedded FW, software, preferably C, C++
  • Experience writing RTL in Verilog and familiar with the Verification process
  • Independent, self-motivated, professional attitude and strong desire to succeed
  • Must be detailed oriented, proactive, organized, and shows strong initiative.
  • Experience in signal integrity, impedance control, timing analysis and simulation tools
  • Familiar with IBIS/SPICE device models and PCB board s-parameters extraction
  • Familiar with Cadence Allegro layout set of tools. 
  • Excellent communication and teaming skills
Preferred:
  • Familiar with the fabrication and assembly process of PCB’s
  • Familiar with package design process
  • Experience with memories and memory controllers
  • Experience with design of analog circuitry
