Thermal/Power Management Engineer

Novus' customer's Thermal/Limits Architecture team is looking for a thermal and/or mobile system power engineer capable of performing simulation and/or experimental analysis to address the future challenges and trends. The team is responsible for all relevant thermal efforts starting with product definition up to and including final validation of the platform for all chipsets. This engineer will contribute to our success by developing thermal innovative solutions, power management strategies, competitive analysis methodologies, process flows and customer support for our products and their thermal related issues. Specific sample tasks include, but not limited to development and validation of platform thermal models, both in-production devices and test vehicles. Power and thermal characterization of internal and competing chipsets. Performing lab measurements and developing pre-silicon methodologies for predicting thermal behaviors. Collaborate with the larger architecture team on simulations, lab measurements, experimental methodologies, and reliability models. This position requires collaborative skills to interface effectively across multiple teams. Excellent communication skills are required for verbal and written delivery of technical content including key outcomes of any analysis. The individual must have strong organizational skills and be a self-starter.

Knowledge of experimental techniques and system level thermal solutions.
Knowledge and familiarity with lab measurements relating to power and thermal experiments.
Knowledge of power consumed by sub-system and thermal management in mobile devices.
Expertise with test methodologies, test plans, test automation.
Familiar with data acquisition and test equipment, JTAG, LabView test software, Python

Thermal modeling tools such as Icepak, Fluent and Flotherm Design of Experiment (DOE), Statistical Analysis, JMP, Measurement Capability Analysis and relevant Metrology
